The small, old 17th-century monastery is dedicated to Zoodochos Pigi (the Life-Giving Spring), that is, the Virgin Mary, and is located in the area of Ampeliki, near the town of Skopelos.
Significant icons are kept in the monastery’s katholikon (main church), including the late Byzantine carved icon (with a frame protruding from the painted surface) depicting the Dormition of the Virgin Mary in the center, and around it, in miniature, the 24 stanzas (verses) of the Akathist Hymn, as well as the icon of the Virgin Mary Zoodochos Pigi, created by the 17th-century Cretan painter Antonios Agorastos.
The feast and festival of the Monastery of Panagia Livadiotissa are held five days after Easter.
