The renowned plums of Skopelos were highly sought after. Their production continues to be a growing occupation for many residents of the island. Skopelos plums are classified into three types: avga-to (egg-shaped), which is also used to make traditional spoon sweets, xino (sour), and the famous French variety. In Skopelos, you’ll find plums cooked with meat, in desserts, dried in ovens and cooperatives, as well as in liqueurs.
